What I do at the library: I am a Youth Services Associate with a passion for cultivating a love of reading within children. I help kids get excited about reading by performing storytimes and leading fun programs. One of my favorite parts of working at the library is providing reader’s advisory, which is a term for helping people find books they will enjoy.
What I like to do outside the library: I am an art lover and collector of antique oil paintings, which I find by exploring antique malls and thrift stores. Similarly, I can often be found in used bookstores searching for new additions to my home library. At home, I love painting, working on jigsaw puzzles, baking themed birthday cakes, and adorning my home with extravagant holiday décor.
I like books that evoke strong emotional feelings, especially crying, laughing, or nostalgia. Connecting with characters and thinking about the book’s content long after completion of reading will easily put the title on my list of favorite books.
