The Lombard Historical Society will share stories about the Underground Railroad across Illinois through the perspective of Old Charley, a freedom seeker listed in Illinois historical records. You’ll gain insight into the injustice inherent within the institution of slavery, and learn about local conductors like Sheldon Peck, who offered his homestead as a safe haven for freedom seekers like Charley.
