Located in the Andes Mountains more than 2,000 feet above the Urubamba River, Machu Picchu reveals much about Inca royal traditions and religious rites. At the same time, there is enough mystery about the site to inspire the imaginations of contemporary people. In this virtual slide lecture, professor Jeff Mishur discusses Inca building practices and highlights some of the important elements of Machu Picchu, such as the Royal Mausoleum. Mishur will also discuss examples of Inca sculpture and decorative arts during his presentation.
