Online library card application
All residents of Western Springs are eligible for a Thomas Ford library card at no cost. In most cases, the process only takes minutes. You may quickly obtain cards by presenting two forms of ID with your current address as proof of residency at the front desk. Please present a valid driver's license or state ID and one of the following items:
- bill with current address
- personal check with current address
- car registration
- mortgage papers
- property tax bill
Possession of a Thomas Ford library card entitles a patron to reciprocal and interlibrary loan use of all Metropolitan Library System libraries.
Patrons living in unincorporated areas must purchase a library card at the Circulation Desk. Our non-resident system card may be used at all Metropolitan Library System libraries. All non-resident cardholders are entitled to full interlibrary loan service. Cost of a nonresident library card as of June 2008 is $200/year. Please inquire at the Circulation desk for more information.
