Kristie M. Scriba

Secretary, Library Foundation

Kristie has lived in Western Springs for 18 years and has been married for 23 years to her husband, Paul. She says, “I am the proud mom of three amazing kids, Sam, Lauren and Nathan, who love to read and keep me young at heart!” She teaches Spanish at Lyons Township High School where she learns something new from her enthusiastic students every single day. She is currently working on getting her Master’s Degree in Teacher Leadership from Elmhurst College. She has devoured books since childhood and her current favorites include Federico Garcia Lorca, Adriana Trigiani, and John Knowles’ “A Separate Peace.”

She says, “I decided to get involved with the Library Foundation while I was staying home with my children and working part time. I have found my time on the Board to be a very rewarding learning experience. I have a particular interest in involving teens at the Library in order to invite fresh enthusiasm, to bring teens together and to encourage a student’s love for learning. Stop by the Library and see what looks interesting to you. I am confident that you will find something fascinating in this very special place!“
